May 2026: Annual General Meeting

Our president welcomed 44 members to our Annual General Meeting in May 2026.

Thanks were given to the chef for all his hard work over the year for the delicious lunches.

Once the minutes of the 2025 AGM were approved, members listened to the Treasurer’s and the Secretary’s reports for the year. The Treasurer outlined the success of the online booking and payment systems whilst also highlighting the popularity of the raffle. Members were reminded to book their lunches by the closing date so that lunches could be appropriately planned. The Treasurer informed the members that subscription renewals will be posted out in July and that subscriptions are payable by 1st September.

The President gave an overview of the year and thanked the Committee for their hard work behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the luncheon club.

Members were made aware of the roles and responsibilities within the Committee by the President.

The members were given an outline of some of the speakers who will be part of the 2026 to 2027 season by the President.

The President brought changes in the rules to members’ attention; these changes were approved by the membership. Members were also informed that the cost of a luncheon will increase by £1 to £25. Members were invited to volunteer for the roles of Secretary and of Raffle Co-Ordinator.

The President closed the 2026 AGM by wishing members a lovely summer and reminded them that the new season commenced in September.
